He combines the influence of Hesselhoej Donkey Boss with one of the most remarkable mare families in modern Danish breeding – the same family behind the premium stallion Hesselhoej Double Up, who is currently making his way onto the international Grand Prix stage with Swiss rider Estelle Wettstein.

Within the first four generations of Danny Ocean’s pedigree, no fewer than eight Grand Prix horses can be found.

Danny Ocean impresses with a trot of great shoulder freedom and exceptional elasticity, combined with impressive mechanics in both the forehand and hindquarters and powerful push from behind. His canter is naturally uphill with a strong hind leg and a clear ability to both collect and lengthen. The walk is pure, relaxed and very ground-covering – a well-known trademark of offspring by Hesselhoej Donkey Boss.

Danny Ocean is by the premium stallion Donkey Boss, winner of the prestigious Aage Ravn Trophy. At his performance test he achieved outstanding scores including 10 for temperament, 9.5 for trot, walk and rideability, and 9 for canter.

Already with his first crop, Donkey Boss produced a premium stallion that sold for €2 million at the Hannoveraner Verband auction.

His full brother, the World Champion Hesselhoej Downtown, has also made a significant impact on breeding with exceptional offspring, including Mare of the Year 2024 and the Danish 4 year old championship winner Søbakkehus Miss Malfoy (2025). Both Donkey Boss and Downtown have achieved remarkable success with relatively few offspring.

Danny Ocean originates from one of the most successful mare families in Danish breeding.

His dam, Søbakkehus Mia Amore, is the dam of the young horse championship winner Søbakkehus Maude (by Hesselhoej Donkey Boy), who also competed in the World Championships for Young Horses final. She is also the dam of Søbakkehus Delayed, who achieved 8.4 at the Danish Young Horse Championships as a 4-year-old.

The great-granddam, Lyndelygaards Mai Tai, was awarded Mare of the Year and still holds the highest performance test result ever recorded.
